This chapter starts right where we left off last chapter, Toichi yelling at Juniro. Noguchi explains that they were lost the underground tunnels, but turns and notices a chemical protection unit outside her house and asks Toichi about it. Toichi explains that NIN and UN fought at a nearby apartment building and that gas was released and caused many casualties. Noguchi is shocked and asks about her parents, but Toichi reveals that they were evacuated to the Ninpo Lodge.
Juniro enters back into the grate and tells Noguchi that it'll only take about ten minutes to get back to the apartment through them, despite them taking three hours down there before. Juniro leaves, and Noguchi heads inside the house with Toichi to soak in some legendary ninja hot spring water.
After Noguchi leaves the bath, she thanks Toichi and asks if she had gone in herself yet. Toichi says that she'll get in later and "drink up your soup". Yes, Toichi is referring to the Noguchi's bath water.
Following that, Toichi gives Noguchi some weird ninja milk and the two watch the news, which is calling the ninja incident a "gas leak accident".
Toichi tells Noguchi that it took the GSDF three hours to decontaminate the area, and that's why Juniro pretended to get lost in the underground tunnels with Noguchi.
Suddenly, the news reporter is handed a piece of paper with a special news report on it. They publicly announce that the "accident" had actually been a terrorist gas attack. He continues, saying that the GSDF handled decontamination efforts and that the terrorist group responsible had been neutralized by NIN, which is then explained to be an organization working directly under the Cabinet.
Toichi smiles and laughs at the announcement. Noguchi questions her, and Toichi explains that the news had lied about NIN working under the Cabinet and that the Japanese government has decided to take advantage of the internal conflict going on within NIN.
The final page cuts away from the Noguchi residence and shows an invisible Kato, who comments on the government turning against NIN. He states that "someone's made quite the bold decision." We see the shinobi who had given Suzuki and Ryuko information on the meeting with UN walking somewhere nearby.
